Every believer should participate in some type of life group to be encouraged, to grow, and to make a difference in other people's lives. Each group is structured based on the best way to provide the group opportunity for koinonia.
Koinonia is a Greek word meaning "community" and is often translated as fellowship (Acts 2:42). Koinonia was a way of life in the early church. Christians would gather together to fellowship, worship, study the Bible, pray, care for one another, and share the gospel. Life groups follow this pattern.
Life groups involve people with something in common; age, location, life circumstances, or even hobbies. Life groups may meet in homes, at the church, or in a restaurant. Our most common groups include student groups, the women's group, and men's mentoring groups. j
The focus of life groups:
Fellowship - have fun
Community - people are loved, accepted, encouraged
Worship - study and pray together
Transformation - become more like Christ
Sharing Christ - serve others and share the gospel
